“Mountaineering in Scotland, what a place to be”
Standing atop a rugged and shapely mountain always provokes a wonderful feeling of fulfillment and personal satisfaction. Early morning is a magnificent time of day to experience the mountain tops. Colours are different, shadows are long and if you’re lucky with the weather nothing beats watching the sun raising itself into a clear morning sky.
Around the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National park there is loads of outdoor activity and plenty of wonderful mountains to climb. Callander is a fine base for such a trip putting you within easy reach of many Munros.
Mountaineering days and courses happen all over Scotland and offer something for all abilities. Look out for scrambling and mountaineering events on the events page .
Later in the year we will publish our winter skills programme for 2005.
